In this video, we show you surface tension of PLA for 3D printer. We
used contact angle meter SL200K with high temperature chamber and high
temperature syringe (max temp. about 450℃) to measure surface tension of
melted PLA for 3D printer under temperature about 250-280℃ based on
pendant drop method. And, we used ADSA-Realdrop method from CAST3.0
disigned by USA KINO to calculate surface tension of melted PLA for 3D
printer. We found out that it is hard to form a shape of pendant drop
under suggested melted temperature (about 190-220℃), and shape of melted
PLA is hard to be controlled to form a drop shape. So, measured value
of melted PLA for 3D printer (about 36-42mN/m) is just a reference for
you, and we suggest you measure SFE for PLA, and then check out if
measured value used melted PLA way is suitable. Visit
